Rava Upma

Breakfast Receipe: Quantity : Breakfast/snack for 4 people Ingredients: 2 cup fine Rava 4-5 cups of water 1 Carrot - chopped into small pieces 1 big onion - chopped finely 1/4 cup green peas 1 medium size green pepper- chopped finely 1 inch ginger - minched/chopped very finely 4 small green chillies- cut into small pieces Urad dal - to temper Mustard seeds- to temper Curry leaves - 1 full strand Hing - to temper 4 tbsps homemade ghee Salt Jeera - to temper Freshly grated coconut - garnish. Fnely chopped fresh coriander - garnish Procedure: 1. Heat kadai and roast rava on a medium flame . Stir continuously so that the rava does not get over roasted . Roast till it turns light brown. You will smell fresh roasted aroma as an indicator that it is almost done . Remove from flame and spread on a plate to let it cool . 2. Maharashtrian Upavas Receipe: Quantity : Breakfast/snacks for 3-4 people Ingredients: Sweet potato - medium size 5 Potato 1 big Peanuts - roasted and crushed 4 tbsp. Green chilies - 3 to 4 (as per taste) Jeera Homemade Ghee (as required) Hing Salt Water Appliance Needed: Grater Peeler Procedure: 1. Wash the sweet potatoes and potato and dry them in order to grate. Peel the sweet potato before grating 2.  Take a large bowl filled with water .  Grate the sweet potatoes and put them in the water as soon as grated. 3. After all the sweet potatoes are grated , squeeze out all the water from them and transfer them to a different dry bowl 4. Now grate the potato . Remember do not peel off the potato . Grate it with the skin and also put it in water before squeezing out all the water . 5. Prepare tadka now: Heat ghee in a vok , add jeera . Kerala Sadhya Receipe: Quantity : Sufficient for 4-5 people Ingredients: Ripe Mango (pieces or whole ) . I used the mango piece that we get in the frozen section in Indian Store. 1 cup Cocunut 1.5 cup curd Green chilies - cut length wise Curry leaves Garlic pods 2-3 Red chili powder Turmeric Jeera Asofetida (Hing) Red whole chilies Mustard seeds Coconut oil Salt Water ~ 1 cup (as required) Appliance Needed: Preeti Mixer Procedure: 1.  Take the mango and remove its skin to make small vertical pieces. You can also use whole mango after removing the skin. (I do pieces) 2.  Take a heavy bottom pan and add mango to it along with 1 cup of water (as required) . 3. Add green chilies cut length wise and some salt for initial cooking. Cover this and allow the mango to be cooked. 4.
